It’s been a long long journey

I posted a video about my 2019 Chiari Brain Malformation diagnosis, the challenges of getting that diagnosis, and the lack of knowledge about Chiari Brain Malformation in my home town of Toronto, Canada. What I have learned is that our medical community doesn’t understand its seriousness, and the debilitating symptoms that it can cause. I made the video with filmmaker Chris Power who wanted to help me bring Chiari Awareness and the successful, minimally invasive Filum Terminale sectioning surgery that I had at the Chiari Institute in Barcelona, Spain. I am forever grateful for their deep research and their work to help people like myself, gain the quality of their life back and helping us to regain our energy, strength and neurological capabilities. Healing is a process and happy to be on the right road back to obtaining optimal health and wellness! Hoping this treatment can be made available locally to prevent the illness from causing further damage in people.

Part 2 of my Chiari Brain Malformation story and healing from Filum Terminale Sectioning surgery. On day 44 post filum sectioning, my symptoms that I had been experiencing all went away. There will be ups and downs over the next year to a year and a half, but I’ve been enjoying major health milestones and progress, from picking up my camera again for short photo shoots to, light jogging, longer yoga and pilates sessions to even walking the dog without light headedness, head pressure or tension or disorientation, something that was happening more frequently before the Filum Terminale sectioning surgery.
