Thanks Wonderful Machine for this write up about my previous pre-pandemic photoshoot for Quarto Publishing’s Playing with Paints, Watercolour book by Sara Funduk. My assignment was to document Sara’s detailed watercoloring instructions and prints which was to be highlighted in her book along with natural, authentic portraits of the artist. I was only given half a day to cover a long list of wants and needs by the client, but when her son, Stanley wandered into the room, I took a bit of time to capture him with his mom, working in her studio space which ended up being a nice personal touch to the photoshoot and to the final pages of the book. What I love is that the writer captured what seems to naturally occur in many homes and work spaces, especially now during the pandemic. Moms multitasking it all, working while also taking care of the children, which is an impossible task on most days. Thanks again to Sara Funduk for letting me into her beautiful, colourful and inspiring world!
